From the Desk of Athletics Director Andre Byrd

Greetings,

Hello! My name is Andre Byrd and I am currently the Athletics Director at Stockbridge High School. I grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and attended Columbia High School, where I participated in Football, Baseball, and Basketball. After graduation from Columbia High, I attended Morris Brown and Fort Valley State University where I played football for both schools. I graduated with my Bachelor of Sciences Degree in (2004). From there, I continued my education in the Graduate Program for Technology in Education at  Lesley University (2008) and then another Master's in special education from Grand Canyon University (2012). Finally, I graduated with my Specialist in Educational Leadership in 2016 from Columbus State University.

While obtaining my graduate degrees, I was a Special education teacher and Head Baseball Coach, Head Wrestling Coach, and Assistant Head Football Coach for Newton County Schools in Covington, Georgia (Newton High 2007-2017). In 2017 I became an Administrator and Assistant Athletic Director at Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia. I held that position for three years until becoming the Athletic Director for Stockbridge High School.

I have a passion for working with student-athletes and athletics. I oversee all aspects of athletic programs at Stockbridge high. Most importantly, I am the liaison between the school’s athletics and academics. I work closely with the school or university to align goals and ideals.
